PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment, with which communication processing of AV data and control data can be handled by the same platform. SOLUTION: In this communication equipment, a common AV data/control data packet control means 12 is provided on a common physical medium input/ output processing part 11, an AV data processing means 13 and a control data processing means 14 are parallel provided thereon, and an input data discriminating means 15 for discriminating the AV data/control data and exchanging data with the AV data processing means or control data processing means is provided in the high rank thereof.
