PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated winding magnet motor capable of detecting magnet polar positions by removing a signal of a third higher harmonic wave constituent from the induction voltage of an armature winding during a non- energized period. SOLUTION: The concentrated winding magnet motor has a relation between the number of slots for a stator and the number of magnetic poles for a rotor being S>2P, wherein S represents the former and 2P the latter, with the winding of an armature being directly provided on the teeth of the armature core, and is characterized in that the width of magnet poles,θr, as is expressed in the degree of an angle in the rotating direction of the magnet embedded in the rotor is made smaller than the width of the tip ends of the teeth,θs, as is expressed in the degree of an angle in the rotating direction of the stator core, while the distribution of the magnetic flux generated by the rotation of the rotor is made trapezoid wave form, whereby the third higher harmonic wave constituent of the induction voltage to the armature winding during a non- energized period is made large, with the ratio betweenθr andθs, namely,θr/θs, being in the range of 3/4 to 3/3.5.
