PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette wherein a circuit board can be attached to a cassette shell always by directing its mounting surface to a cassette inner side. SOLUTION: An erroneous assembling prevention part 77 is provided to prevent the incorporation of a circuit board 35 by abutment of a circuit component 35A when the circuit board (memory board) 35 is incorporated in a rear wall part 6A of a lower shell 6 with its mounting surface 35a directed to the rear wall part 64.
