PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover water of a direct type fuel cell specifically a direct type methanol fuel cell by using a wicking structure comprising a wicking material assembled adjoining a cathode. SOLUTION: The free rise wick height of the wicking material is at least a half of the longest size. The wicking material is generally selected from a foamed body, a fiber mat, a fiber bundle, a woven fiber and a non woven fiber. In an embodiment, a hole or a through hole is formed through a sheet, and a conductive layer is adjoined, adhered or applied to at least one of the surface of the wicking material. For the recycling of water, a second wicking material comprising the wicking material is assembled adjoining an anode and the fluid path is formed between a first and the second wicking structure. Absorbed water flows passing through the fluid flow path, then mixed with a fuel and introduced into the second wicking structure adjoining the anode. |
