摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light and compact solid polymer type fuel cell and its fabrication method, in which the fuel cell has an anode having excellent poison resistant property for carbon monoxide and good hydrogen activity also gives stable high output voltage through long time. SOLUTION: The cell includes an electrode catalyst and an ion exchange resin in the catalyst layer of the anode. The catalyst is composed of metal particles comprising platinum or platinum alloy and a carbon carrier. The average lattice distance d002 of the lattice plane [002] of the carbon carrier measured by x-ray diffraction is 0.340 to 0.362 nm, the size of crystallite Lc002 is 0.6 to 4 nm, and surface area is 260 to 800 m<2> /g.
