PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-domain vertical alignment mode liquid crystal display wherein an image persistence phenomenon hardly occurs and display quality is excellent and to provide a color filter and an array substrate with which such a liquid crystal display can be manufactured. SOLUTION: In the multi-domain vertical alignment mode liquid crystal display, a protrusion for controlling the alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer formed between a pair of substrates opposed to each other in a plurality of directions is provided on at least one substrate and the protrusion has electric characteristics of a specific dielectric constant of <=11 and >=3×10<-12> S/cm dielectric constant.
