PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FM demodulator, which has versatility with respect to sampling rate and to center frequency and can be easily realized with a software wireless transceiver. SOLUTION: The FM demodulator for decoding an FM signal by digital signal processing for a orthogonally detected digital signal is provided with a delay 101 for delaying a digital signal I, which is a common component among the orthogonally detected digital signal, a delay 101A for delaying a digital signal Q which is the quadrature component out of the orthogonally detected digital signal, a multiplier 102A for multiplying the signal I with the output from the delay 101A, a multiplier 102 for multiplying the signal Q with the output from the delay 101, and a subtracter for subtracting the output of the multiplier 102 from the output of the multiplier 102A.
