PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum water collecting and draining station and the vacuum water collecting and draining method by means of which continuous collecting of water in a narrow installation space is enabled without use of a force feeding pump, low initial cost and running cost can be kept, and the maintenance control is performed easily. SOLUTION: A water collecting tank 10, a vacuum pump 20 to reduce the pressure inside the water collecting tank 10, a vacuum pipe 85 connected to the water collecting tank 10, and a backflow preventing device 30 to prevent backflow of the water drained from the collecting tank and the atmosphere (air) outside the collecting tank are provided. By installing the backflow preventing device 30 at such a position as to balance the water head H from the level of the backflow preventing device for the water accumulating in the collecting tank and the pressure Pt inside the collecting tank 10, the water in the collecting tank is drained by gravity through the backflow preventing device 30 to recover the balance state when the water level and the pressure inside the collecting tank 10 are changed due to ingress of water and air through the vacuum pipe 85.
