PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methanol in which the recovered heat of a distillate of a pressurized rectification column in distillation system is used as a heat source of an absorbing solution regeneration column in carbon dioxide recovery system. SOLUTION: The method comprising a step where a syngas is formed by reacting hydrocarbon and steam in a reformer and carbon dioxide in combustion exhaust gas discharged from the reformer is recovered in the carbon dioxide recovery system and supplied to either or both of an upstream and a downstream of the reformer; a step where liquid crude methanol is recovered from a reaction product obtained by reacting the syngas on a methanol synthesis catalyst; and a distillation step where purified methanol is separated from the recovered crude methanol by distillation in the distillation system comprising a topping column, the pressurized rectification column and an atmospheric rectification column, is characterized by heating a bottom liquid of the topping column in the above distillation step, introducing it to the above pressurized rectification column, and making use of the heat of the distillate discharged from the top of the above pressurized rectification column as the heat source for the regeneration column in the carbon dioxide recovery system and the heat source for the above atmospheric rectification column. |
