PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste processing apparatus and a waste processing method capable of reducing the amount of consumption of a fuel such as LNG gas. SOLUTION: A waste processing apparatus includes a heating furnace for heating a waste, and a high temperature reaction furnace for gasifying and melting waste discharged from the heating furnace with oxygen containing gas. The apparatus processes waste employing an apparatus including waste heat recovery piping for avoiding waste heat of the high temperature reaction furnace with the flowing of a high temperature reaction furnace system heat medium, heating piping for heating the heating furnace with the flowing of the high temperature reaction furnace system heat medium, high temperature reaction furnace circulation piping for coupling the waste heat recovery piping and the heating piping to ensure the circulation of the high temperature reaction furnace system heat medium, and a high temperature reaction furnace system circulation power source disposed on the high temperature reaction furnace circulation piping for circulating the high temperature reaction furnace system heat medium. |
