<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an alkali secondary cell which oxygen gas generated on the overcharge of the cell smoothly passes through, hardly raising the cell inner pressure, and has superior discharge and cycle life performances. SOLUTION: A porous sheet composed of a thermoplastic resin, preferably a polyolefinic resin, is fabricated, hydrophilized and then given unevenness on its surface, whereby the separator hydrophilized and with unevenness thereon for an alkali cell is provided. The use of said separator for a cell provides a cell having superior inner pressure controlling, discharge and cycle life performances.</p> |
