PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Hall element which has small variance in characteristics. SOLUTION: The Hall element which has a couple of current input electrodes and a couple of voltage output electrodes formed on a semiconductor substrate has at least one or more gate electrodes formed between the couple of current input electrodes, and at least one or more potential detecting elements which are provided closely to the gate electrodes and detect the semiconductor substrate electrode.
