PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for easily and high-accurately detecting defective parts even for such electronic parts as having a wide variety of shapes. SOLUTION: In an electronic part mounting device 1, an image of an electronic part 2 taken by an imaging device 14 is captured into an image processor 15 to process image data. The image processor 15 detects a lead edge from the acquired image data of the electronic part 2, obtains coordinate data of the detected lead edge, and extracts two points located on both ends out of the detected lead edges to be the lead edge reference points, calculating a straight line passing through these two points. And then it counts number of the lead edge candidate points located on this calculated straight line, and determines this straight line as a base point line L if the counted number of the lead edge candidate points is the specified number or more, to detect abnormality in the lead length based on the determined base point line L. |
