PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potable communication terminal, which has an adaptive array antenna and can conduct good data reception without increasing power consumption, regardless of the reception condition that varies remarkably depending on its location. SOLUTION: This invention employs a data communication method for conducting data reception in an adaptive array antenna reception mode. The potable communication terminal is equipped with a single antenna A1 for use in data reception in the single antenna reception mode, an adaptive array antenna composed of a plurality of antennas A2-AN, used in data reception in the adaptive array antenna reception mode, and an antenna power supply control unit 31 for determining whether data reception is conducted by in single antenna reception mode or in of the adaptive array antenna reception mode. |
