PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, capable of preventing deposits from accumulating on a wall surface in a through-hole in a valve body. SOLUTION: A valve body 10 for opening or closing an air intake passage in an internal combustion engine is provided. A through-hole 11, through which intake air flows, is provided in the valve body 10. A hole wall surface 12 of the through-hole 11 is provided with a taper portion formed by a slope surface 12a with a straight-line cross-sectional shape or a curved surface with a protruding cross-sectional shape, having a wider opening area on an upstream side of the through-hole and becoming smaller, going toward a downstream side thereof. The tapered portion in the hole wall surface 12 helps augment the flow velocity of the intake air flowing through the through-hole 11, thereby preventing the intake air flowing through the through-hole 11 from becoming stagnant. |
