PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment which can manage another node and comform to the IEEE1394 standard. SOLUTION: This communication equipment has a low-order layer having a communication means for exchanging signals with another node connected to a network, a first high-order layer for managing the low-order layer and a second high-order layer for managing the low-order layer of a specific terminal node connected to the network, so that one node is constituted.
