PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting an RNA simply and quickly with high sensitivity by using a luminous compound. SOLUTION: The method for detecting optically an RNA existing in a solution, in a solid or on a solid-phase carrier comprises the following processes: a process (1) of obtaining a compound body of a dye selected from the group composed of a cyanine dye, an oxonol dye and a xanthene dye and has two or more boronic acid groups and the RNA and a process (2) of detecting the compound body optically.
