PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly purify exhaust gas, by sufficiently collecting particulates in the exhaust gas, and to prevent deterioration in the output and fuel consump tion by exhaust pressure increase and breakage of a device through heating. SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device 22, which comprises an oxidation catalyst 23 and a filter 24 for collecting particulates, is provided to an exhaust pipe 21 of a diesel engine. In the filter 24, while sealing the upstream end of an adjacent exhaust passage 32a, the downstream end on the other exhaust passage 32b is opened fully, so as to have the characteristics in which particulate accumulation ratio is decreased, with increase in the particulate accumulation amount. |
