PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an electrode for a thin type alkaline storage battery suitable for use of a larger current without strain and bend, to avoid troubles such as short circuit caused by a shift in winding and dropping of an active material. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the electrode for the alkaline storage battery having the active material layer on both faces of a base material in which slurry of the active material is coated on both faces of the base material comprising a metal base plate and the plate is pressed after drying, assuming that an average particle size of the active material is A, a thickness of the base material is B, a thickness of the electrode after pressing is C, a void ratio of the active material layer before pressing is D and the void ratio of the active material layer after pressing is E, the manufacturing method of the electrode for the alkaline storage battery meets requirements of (C-B)/2>A, 0<(1-E/D)<0.5 and 0%<E<25%. |
