PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device and a sealing method for a liquid crystal cell which enable stable treatment by preventing breakage or chipping of a liquid crystal display cell, simultaneous and efficient coating operations at a plurality of parts and can also be adaptive to many kinds of cells. SOLUTION: The sealing device for the liquid crystal cell is provided with a pressurizing tool 1 for laminating a plurality of the liquid crystal display cells 2 while a sheet like elastic body 4 is being interposed between liquid crystal display cells 2 adjacent to each other and each having a liquid crystal filled therein, holding means 9 and 10 holding the pressurizing tool 1, positioning means 11 by which the positioning of the liquid crystal display cells 2 laminated by the pressurizing means 1 is performed and a pressurizing means 19 for pressurizing the plurality of the liquid crystal cells 2 via the sheet like elastic body 4, after the positioning state of the plurality of the liquid crystal display cells 2 performed by the positioning means 11 is released and to provide the sealing method for the liquid crystal cell.
