PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein the values of light leakage current generated in two LDD(lightly doped drain) areas of a pixel TFT can be equalized to each other. SOLUTION: A pixel TFT (a channel 201) is formed along a gate line 61 in such a manner that the center of the channel 201 is positioned on the line A-A' which is equidistant from two data lines 81. The gate side LDD area 41 and the pixel electrode side LDD area 42 of the pixel TFT are formed axisymmetrically with respect to the line A-A' and storage capacitances are also formed axisymmetrically with respect to the line A-A'.
