PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration suppressing mechanism which is capable of more efficiently attenuating vibrations without so much changing the conventional structure and is capable of simultaneously suppressing the vibration by a plurality of resonance frequencies possessed by an excitation system and an HGA having the vibration suppressing mechanism. SOLUTION: This mechanism has a flat planar vibration member which is inserted between the excitation system and an object to be attenuated of vibrations and is formed by connecting one end and another end by a plurality of pairs of arm sections so as to have a plurality of the resonance frequencies equal to a plurality of the resonance frequencies of the excitation system or near the same. The one end of the vibration member is fastened to the excitation system and the another end is fastened to the object and the vibration member is so constituted as to reduce the apparent resonance amplitude of the object by the resonance of the vibration member.
