PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel layout in the direction vision of a crankshaft axis, in an internal combustion engine which applies a swing cam 24 only for intake valve side. SOLUTION: The swing cam 24 swinging in the predetermined range, moving with the rotation of an intake drive shaft 23, and directly pressing a valve lifter 1c of an intake valve 1 is set rotatably in the intake drive shaft 23, rotating about a shaft with the rotating power being transmitted from a crankshaft 8. An axis 23A of the intake drive shaft 23 is offset in an intake direction F1 with respect to a valve center line 1d of the intake valve 1, in the direction vision of the shaft direction of the crankshaft. The axis 8A of the crankshaft 8 is offset in the intake direction F1, with respect to the cylinder shaft line L0.
