DISCHARGE LAMP AND LAMP APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure vapor discharge lamp and its lamp apparatus capable of preventing disconnection due to oxidization or the like of the welded part or the like of wiring members, lengthening the service life of the lamp, and reducing a rejection rate, even when a lamp power is increased and a reflector is downsized. SOLUTION: The lamp apparatus is provided with: the discharge lamp provided with a light-emission tube in which a luminescent material is included and a pair of electrodes are arranged so as to be opposite to each other, and a pair of sealing parts extending from the luminescent tube; a reflector reflecting light emitted by the discharge lamp; a transparent member covering the reflector opening and housing the discharge lamp in the space with the reflector; and an excessive temperature rise restraining means for restraining the temperature rise at the welded points of the wiring members electrically connected to the electrodes of the discharge lamp.
