<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer with which the central wavelength of light transmission which is multiplexed and demultiplexed is easily made approach to a designed wavelength and a loss and an adjacent crosstalk are small. SOLUTION: An optical multiplexer/demultiplexer circuits 8 (8A, 8B and 8C) such as Mach-Zehnder optical interferometers having a wavelength multiplexing/demultiplexing function formed with an optical waveguide are formed on different substrates 1 (1A, 1B and 1C), respectively, and a plurality of optical waveguide circuit chips 7 (7A, 7B and 7C) are formed, and the plurality of the optical waveguide circuit chips 7 (7A, 7B and 7C) are connected with optical fibers 2. Temperature control means 5 (5A, 5B and 5C) which regulate the central wavelength of light transmission corresponding to the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer circuits 8 (8A, 8B and 8C) by controlling the temperature of the optical waveguide circuit chips 7 (7A, 7B and 7C) are provided on the optical waveguide circuit chips 7 (7A, 7B and 7C), respectively.</p> |
