The method of synchronization of a motor vehicle (3) gearbox involves controlling operation of the vehicle engine (1) and clutch (2) to allow synchronization. The engine power is controlled during gear changes to allow a constant torque to be transmitted by the clutch for switching of the load during synchronization. The torque regulation is operated as quickly as possible.
