The device is assembled of a T-handle (2), a transversally positioned padded bar (11) with a pipe (1) attached vertically to the top, and two spring arrangements (3). The lower end of the handle shaft (2) is guided through a double walled sleeve with lateral extensions (12, 22) protruding from the inner and the outer wall into the pipe (1) on top of the padded bar (11). When the padded bar (11) is positioned on the tummy and the handle (2) moved towards the body the spring elements (31) held by the extensions (12, 22) are compressed and two elements (31a) attached to the upper end of the springs (31) hit on elements (31a) attached to the lower ends of the springs (31), resulting in a sound facilitating the counting of the exercises performed by the user.
