An adjustable grip for a hand tool has the grip shaped to provide a varying position depending on the rotational setting. The grip is provided with stubs at each end for securing to the tool using clamping blocks. The stubs are made of a hard material and can have a splined finish. The inside faces of the clamping blocks are lined with an elastic material to clamp over the stubs. The design enables a fine degree of adjustment. For moderate torques no splines are necessary. The clamping blocks have half cylindrical clamping surfaces with the elastic coating securely bonded to the inside surfaces, and with one half of each block attached to the body of the tool. The blocks are secured using screw fasteners.
