<p>An analyzer for detecting at least one gas component of a gas, particularly useful for analyzing a respiratory gas, includes a flow channel (4) for conducting the gas; a removable liner (2) removably lining the inner surface of the flow channel, the removable liner carrying a fluorescent film (8, 10) having at least one fluorescent element effective, when excited by an excitation source (16), to emit fluorescent radiation of a particular frequency quenchable by a gas component of the gas; and a detector (12, 14, 33, 34) for detecting the fluorescent radiation. In one embodiment, the removable liner (2) is transparent; and in a second embodiment, a transparent member (30) is used for carrying the fluorescent film (8, 10, 31, 32).</p> |
