The holding mechanism comprises one or more grippers(7,8) which hold the product shape-determining tool part in position in the die. Each gripper can move between one position in which it is disengaged from the tool part and another position in which it holds the part. A combination comprising several holding mechanisms in the cavity of a lower tool die includes a common frame which supports all the mechanisms and moves transverse to the main plane of the lower die.
