The invention concerns a clasp, in particular for a bracelet, comprising an upper folding arm (23, 40, 41) and a lower folding arm (21, 50) linked by a hinge pin (25) and means for maintaining the folding arms pressed against each other when the clasp is in closed position. The invention is characterised in that the means retaining the folding arms comprise a female component (3, 53) integral with one of the folding arms, including at least a pivoting slide (5A, 5B, 51, 52) mounted mobile about a hinge axis (7A, 7B), the pivoting slide comprising a planar break (11A, 11B) substantially perpendicular to its pivoting hinge; a male component (1, 40, 41) integral with the other unfolding arm, comprising a planar break (17A, 17B) designed to co-operate with the planar break (11A, 11B) of the slide so as to exert a force maintaining the male and female components in a direction parallel to the axis of the slide; and a spring (9) for returning the slide in a position for co-operation with the male component. The male and female components are unlocked to unfold the arms by pressing on the slide countering the return spring force, in a pressing zone of the slide located substantially opposite the slide planar break, relative to the pivoting hinge of the slide.
