PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing contaminants on upper roll in vertical annealing furnace is provided to clean contaminants stained on steering roll and deflector roll in the upper part of the vertical annealing furnace without extinguishing of the heating zone and exchange of an atmospheric gas of the vertical annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for removing contaminants on upper roll in vertical annealing furnace comprises a removal part which is installed at the upper part inside the vertical annealing furnace and closely adhered onto a deflector roll(150) and a steering roll(140) of the upper part of the vertical annealing furnace to wipe out contaminants on the upper rolls if necessary; and a moving part for selectively moving the removal part to the upper rolls of the deflector roll and the steering roll, wherein the removal part comprises a rotational shaft(10), a driving motor, a winding roll(12), a belt(13), guide rolls(14), a horizontal shaft, a pressing member, a felt and a cleaning cloth(18), and the moving part comprises guide rails(20), a moving frame(22) at the tip of which driving wheels(21) are installed so that the driving wheels(21) are put on the guide rails(20), and a driving means.
