PURPOSE: A rear-monitoring sensor for vehicle is provided to indicate a precise distance with an obstacle onto the monitor screen displaying the rear conditions of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A rear-monitoring sensor composed of followings. A rear warning device(13) emits digital mode of distance signals with beeping sound in case that the detected distance with obstacles or pedestrians in the advancing direction is within 120cm. A rear sensor(15) transmits the distance signals received from the rear warning device to the CPU(Central Processing Unit). A camera(17) situated in the rear section generates the analog video image after capturing the rear sight of the vehicle, actuated by the signals. A decoder(19) converts the video signals into digital mode. A hybrid portion(21) generates the digital mode of compound video signals, mixing the digital mode of the distance signals with the video signals. An encoder(23) converts the compound video signals into analog mode. A monitor(25) displays the distance with obstacles or pedestrians onto the screen, receiving the compound video signals.
