TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD

A temperature measurement system and method are presented herein. The system may include a sensor and a thermal path adapted to connect the sensor to an object of measurement. In one embodiment, the sensor may be spaced apart from the object of measurement upon coupling to provide electrical isolation between the sensor and the object. The thermal path may conduct heat dissipated from the object of measurement so that a temperature of the object may be measured. In one embodiment, the thermal path may include a conductive plane to aid in conducting heat dissipated from the object of measurement. In this manner, the average temperature of the object of measurement may be obtained. In a further embodiment, the conductive plane may include a ground plane adapted to electrically ground the object of measurement as well as aid in conducting heat dissipated from the object.
