<p>A bearing (1) having outer and inner rings (2,3) and a ball race with cage (4,5), is fitted with a sensor to measure the speed of rotation of the inner ring (3). The sensor comprises a fixed detecting unit (9), typically using the Hall effect and a moving magnetic coder (8). The fixed detecting unit (9) is supported by a synthetic block (10) and a metallic element (11) attached to a seating on the outer fixed ring (2). The moving magnetic coder (8) consists of an inner annular metallic element (13) which supports plastic magnetic material (14) forming magnetic poles and two further restraining annular elements (15). The restraining and reinforcing elements (15) have an L shaped section and are made from a non magnetic material which has a high elasticity and low coefficient of expansion compared to the plastic magnetic material.</p> |
