The device (1) for connecting two high pressure conduits (2,3) comprises two pipe connections (6,7) with flanges (4,5) firmly ocnnected with the conduits. A tension clamp (8) encloses the flanges on their sides facing the conduits, pressing the flanges against each other. An elastic sealing ring (9) (e.g. of rubber) is located in groove-shaped recesses of the face sides of the two flanges. The dimensions of the groove-shaped recesses are so selected that there is adequate space for the deformations of the sealing ring, so that the pressure acting on it by the fluid flowing through the conduits may increase.
