LAMINATES FOR TREATING CORNEA AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

It is intended to provide laminates for treating cornea which are efficacious in treating cornea and excellent in convenience and thus can facilitate the treatment of cornea. These laminates are composed of a base material having a curved face allowing the loading thereof on the cornea and a cell layer provided directly or indirectly at least on the face of the base material to be in contact with the cornea and/or the face not to be in contact with the cornea. These laminates having a cell layer on the face to be in contact with the cornea are prepared by inoculating oral mucosa epithelial cells into the inside of a collagen shield, culturing the cells for 14 days and thus forming a cell layer consisting of the oral mucosa epithelial cells on the face to be in contact with the cornea.
