COMPACT ROTARY RAMJET ENGINE GENERATOR SET

A rotary ramjet engine is providing operating with a very low axial flow component. The engine has a rotor (70), shaft (28), a plurality of ramjet combustors mounted on the periphery of the rotor (70). A set of spaced helical strakes extend from the outside surface of the rotor toward the interior wall of the engine case, less a running clearance therefrom. A centerbody is provided for each ramjet engine having a combustion chamber (72). The centerbody is disposed parallel to the strakes and includes leading edge structure, opposing sidewalls, a shaped cavity, and a rear end wall.
