Also provided are methods for using HIF-3alpha nucleic acids, proteins, fragments, antibodies, probes, and cells, to characterize HIF-3alpha, modulate HIF-3alpha cellular levels, induce angiogenesis, improve muscular function, and treat coronary and cardiac diseases in mammals.
