The feed pump includes rolling bodies revolving in a channel between the pressure side and suction side of the pump. A branch (16) is constructed in a section of the channel acting as a delivery and return channel (7). The branch has a hydraulically charged pressure connection (18) provided on its side opposite the delivery and return channel. The section of the channel acting as the delivery and return channel has a feed pressure variable restrictor unit (14,17) installed directly next to the outlet (4) of the rolling body channel.
