VALVE CONTROL APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

An internal combustion engine valve control apparatus capable of suppressing increase of the inertia mass of an engine valve and appropriately setting th e valve closing timing according to the operation state, thereby improving the specific fuel consumption and increasing the rotation speed and output as we ll as reducing the cost and weight. The valve control apparatus controls opening/closing of the engine valve. A cam type valve train opens/closes the engine valve by a cam driven in synchronization with the rotation of the internal combustion engine. An actuator engages with the engine valve which has opened and holds the engine valve in its open state. An ECU controls operation of the actuator, thereby controlling the engine valve closing timi ng.
