[Also in Division F2] In a lubricating system for a conveyer chain, pressurized soap solution and pressurized gas are supplied, a foaming unit and a control unit are provided, and foam is conveyed from the foaming unit to the chain. In an embodiment, pressurized soap solution is supplied from a tank 45 to a solenoid valve 55 via a pipe 43 and pressurized air is supplied to a solenoid valve 53 via a pipe 41. The solenoid valves are actuated intermittently and alternately by a control unit comprising an electric timer 49 and an electrical service connection 51. The solenoid valve 55 is connected via a pipe 59, a needle-valve 61, a check-valve 63, and a pipe 65, to the base of a foaming unit 57, whereas the solenoid valve 53 is connected via a pipe 67, a needle-valve 69, a check-valve 71, a pipe 73 and the pipe 65 to said base of the unit 57. The unit 57 contains beads which facilitate the formation of fine foam which is conveyed, via a pipe 35, to a lubricating unit 27 having a nipple 33 thereon leading to a chamber 29 therein. A conveyer chain 1 is passed through the chamber 29 and foam is collected by the top portions 9 of the chain and is carried to the parts which are to be lubricated. The portions 9 may serve as a slide-valve by alternately covering and uncovering the outlet of the nipple 33.</p> |
