PURPOSE: To check whether a data restoring function of a semiconductor memory which can perform simultaneously data read operation and refresh operation is normally operated or not. CONSTITUTION: A data input means 1 receives an input of data from the outside. A parity generating means 2 generates parity from data inputted from the data input means 1. A storing means 3 stores data inputted from the data input means 1 and parity generated by the partity generating means 2. A reading means 5 reads out data from the storage means 3. A restoring means 6 restores data to be refreshed by a refresh-means 4 from other data read out normally and corresponding parity while the read-out means 5 reads out data. A data output means 7 outputs data read out by the reading means 5 and data restored by the restoring means 6. A parity output means 8 reads directly parity stored in the storage means 3 and outputs it.
