PURPOSE: A method for transmitting performance monitoring data between a main control unit and a sub-control unit of a transmission system is provided to distribute the load concentration of the main control unit according to the monitoring of performance by calculating a report time and automatically transmitting the report time in the sub-control unit when reporting the performance monitoring data periodically transmitted between the main control unit and the sub-control unit. CONSTITUTION: Each of sub-control units composes a report table for designating a report sequence(S410). Each of sub-control units gathers performance monitoring data from each unit in its shelf(S420). Each of sub-control units judges whether a reference time elapses(S430). If the reference time elapses, each of sub-control units retrieves the report table and judges a sequence for transmitting the performance monitoring data. If the sequence for transmitting the performance monitoring data is confirmed, each of sub-control units transmits the performance monitoring data to a main control unit according to the sequence(S440). The main control unit monitors the performance of each sub-control unit on the basis of the performance monitoring data(S450).
