PURPOSE: A health food composition containing an extract of Cortex Eucommiae and isoflavone, together with K, vitamin D3 and vitamin K1 is provided which shows a synergistic effect on prevention and treatment of osteoporosis by increasing bone density without changing body weight and is suitable for long-term administration with low adverse effects. CONSTITUTION: The health food composition contains a composition containing K, vitamin D3 and vitamin K1, an extract of Cortex Eucommiae and isoflavone in a ratio of 4:20 to 30:0.5 to 1. The Cortex Eucommiae extract is prepared by cutting the bark of dried Cortex Eucommiae then followed by shaking with water and salt, roasting and extracting the cut pieces under pressure. |
