<p>The invention relates to a system, method and computer program product for compressing and/or displaying digital data. Said system comprising a storage medium for storing a plurality of instruction sequences representing displayable characters (1), a display for displaying said characters, a receiver for receiving at least a first code symbol being assigned to a first one of said characters (1) and reading means for reading out at least a first one of said instruction sequences. Said first instruction sequence represents said first character (1) displayable in a bitmap (2), wherein said first instruction sequence defines a line pattern. Decomposing, storing and restoring e.g. a Chinese character into a line pattern is advantageous as being memory saving and fast. The invention is particularly applicable for mobile phones having restricted memory space. <IMAGE></p> |
