PURPOSE: A system for measuring terminal location using forward pilot channels of a code division multiple access mobile communication system and a method for tracking location are provided to obtain different wireless channel environments in the plurality of forward pilot channels to improve positioning. CONSTITUTION: A base station sends a CFSR(Candidate Frequency Search Request) to a terminal to measure a pilot channel received in a frequency channel and report to the base station(911). The terminal shifts frequency to a candidate frequency channel designated by the base station to search for the pilot channel, and transmits a CFSRM(Candidate Frequency Search Response Message) to the base station after returning to the frequency channel(912).
