PURPOSE: A computer system is provided to check a safe receipt of a drive device being detachably mounted in a computer and recognize an appendix of a drive device automatically. CONSTITUTION: In the case that a CD-ROM drive(19) is not mounted, an operation unit(52) is pressed toward an engaging position(A) by an elastic force of a spring(56) inserted therein, and a pressure shaft(54) is separated from a switching unit(62) at a predetermined distance. If the CD-ROM drive(19) is pressed to a drive receiving unit for mounting the CD-ROM drive(19), a latch member(60) provided in the CD-ROM drive(19) presses the operation unit(52), and moves the operation unit(52) toward an engaging release position(B). The pressure shaft(54) integrally formed with the operation unit(52) is moved in accordance with a movement of the operation unit(52), and presses the switching unit(62). A signal from the switching unit(62) is transmitted to a computer system, and a control unit of the computer system senses a mount of a drive device.
