PURPOSE: A method of warning slide of a steering system for a vehicle is provided to warn the sliding degree of road surface during traveling to a driver at an early stage by using the principle of steering power change or counter-steering force change. CONSTITUTION: A method of warning slide of a steering system for a vehicle comprises steps of detecting the traveling direction of a traveling vehicle(S100,S110); if the traveling direction is under an advance state, outputting steering torque-variable ratio according to the advancing direction, deciding the sliding degree of road surface according to the steering torque-variable ratio, and deciding whether the sliding degree of the road surface is below the first predetermined value(S120,S130); and outputting a slide warning signal if the sliding degree of the road surface is below the first predetermined value(S140). Accordingly, an operational mistake of a steering wheel is prevented.
