The arrangement has a number of essentially identical sources (21-24) connected together so their output signals superimpose to an analog signal (25) and a circuit (12) for associating source switching states to values of the discrete value sequence depending on the value of the discrete sequence and preceding switching states of the switchable sources. At least some, preferably all, of the sources have three mutually independent switching states.
